Measurement of

Ocean Currents & Sea State

CSnet can provide full water column current flow in both near real-time streaming when directly connected to an ocean observing system, or from historical data sets from stand-alone vertical arrays. By employing state-of-the-art Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) specific to each application and location, the collected data becomes invaluable in spill response, design of offshore moorings & structures and deploying pipelines or cables. In addition, CSnet can provide wave height and directional data using an upward facing ADCP.

MetOcean

Data Acquisition

CSnet provides metocean data in both near real-time streaming, or from historical data sets, some of which span up to 10 years of data collection. We can offer in-situ, 24/7 metocean sensing of wind, current, wave, and other oceanographic/hydrographic data streams. This data can be used for regulatory and permitting requirements, or for spill response modeling, planning and operations.

Tsunami & Seismic

Warning Systems

Through the use of Bottom Pressure Recorders (BPR) and Ocean Bottom Seismometers (OBS) which are directly connected to CSnet’s Offshore Communications Backbone (OCB), we can provide forecasters, civil defense authorities, and scientists the near-real time data needed for predicting, delivering timely public warnings and assessing earthquake generated tsunamis.
